Any registered voter can vote early now through Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12 p.m. Unlike Election Day, you are not assigned to a polling location during the early voting period. You can go to any of the three Cambridge early voting locations: Cambridge Water Department, 250 Fresh Pond Parkway Cambridge Public Library, 449 Broadway Valente Branch Library, 826 Cambridge Street

Beginning Friday, February 27, CYP is launching Community Friday Nights, a weekly program designed to bring neighbors of all ages together in a welcoming and positive environment. Join us at Russell Youth and Community Center every Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. for an evening filled with engaging activities, meaningful connections, and opportunities to build stronger relationships within the neighborhood and across the city.

A site-based assessment team from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive on Monday, August 18th through Thursday, August 21st to examine all aspects of the Cambridge Police Department policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services. Verification by the team that the Cambridge Police Department meets the Commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence. On November 3, the City began a 5-year agreement with Casella Waste Systems to collect and haul the City’s residential recycling and yard waste.

On Thursday, October 21, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) approved the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 booster vaccines for eligible groups. The CDC had previously recommended boosters for eligible individuals who received the Pfizer vaccine series. In addition, individuals will now be able to choose which type of booster shot to get regardless of which vaccine series they have already received.
