Shepard Street from Garden Street to Mass Ave is scheduled for reconstruction in 2026 as part of the City’s Five Year Plan for Street and Sidewalk Reconstruction

The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the weekend due to scheduled community events on June 6, 2026.

The Family Policy Council has recommended many policy and program recommendations that have greatly influenced the City’s ability to equitably and meaningfully serve Cambridge children, youth, and families.

Coyotes are common throughout North America, including in urban areas, and have been regularly observed throughout Cambridge. They can thrive close to humans in a variety of habitats.

The Working Group will help guide the design of the Grand Junction Multi-Use Path between the Charles River at the BU Bridge, and the Cambridge-Somerville city line. The group will advise Cambridge City Manager Louis A. DePasquale and his staff on key issues related to the planning and design for this important “Grand Junction Multi-Use Path and Conceptual Transit Design” project.

Meet a swimming, quacking friend at a duck-themed story time, learn about duck behavior and anatomy, and do a themed activity! Best of all, in the Duck Circle, youth are able to touch and interact with a live duck. Due to the particularly fine weather, this program will meet in the Valente Reading Garden, at the corner of Cambridge Street and Berkshire Street. This program is for children of all ages, with a caregiver. Registration is required. When registering, please indicate how many children are attending. The Cambridge Health Alliance and Cambridge Police Department today announced their participation in a new and innovative national research center designed to help individuals at risk for suicide.

This new department will help support Cambridge’s most vulnerable residents by providing an alternative, non-public safety response to non-violent, and behavioral crisis calls.

To help make our community safer, the Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) provides free overdose prevention training in partnership with Somerville Health and Human Services.
