On Wednesday June 19, 2024, Cambridge African American Police Association (CAAPA) along with other city organizations will be hosting a Juneteenth parade and celebration.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Alvin E. Roth—Nobel Prize–⁠winning economist, the Craig and Susan McCaw Professor of Economics at Stanford University, and the George Gund Professor of Economics and Business Administration Emeritus at Harvard University—for a discussion of his new book, Moral Economics: From Prostitution to Organ Sales, What Controversial Transactions Reveal About How Markets Work. He will be joined in conversation by Ray Fisman—who holds the Slater Family Chair in Behavioral Economics at Boston University. Registration is required.

Expect traffic impacts in the East and Mid Cambridge neighborhoods between 10:00-11:00 a.m. Both the 5K and 5-mile race will start in Kendall Square on Linskey Way.

The planning team will introduce the concept of zoning and how changes to the current Mass Ave zoning could impact the corridor. The team will also discuss an approach to our upcoming engagement with the community on the future of Porter Square.

We will install pavement markings for a new separated bike lane, bus lanes, and turn-only lanes on Mt. Auburn Street between Brattle Street and Belmont Street. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of April 22.
