Collaborate on a biodiversity banner to celebrate Moth Week with a sewing circle on July 11 and July 18. Wildlife Arts invites the community to hand sew blocks for a multi-moth fabric banner! We'll teach beginning sewers, and children old enough to handle a needle may work on caterpillar blocks (recommended for age 10 and up). You'll learn about moth biodiversity in Massachusetts and help publicize the humble and little-known world of moths. The banner will be displayed at the Cambridge Moth Ball on July 22 at Fresh Pond Reservation and will be available in the Wildlife Arts banner lending library when complete. All materials will be provided. Registration is suggested. You may attend one or both sessions. The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. This summer, 276 Cambridge pre-teens and middle schoolers participated in Cambridge Youth Programs’ (CYP) summer programs at Youth Centers. CYP also offered a variety of teen programming and internship opportunities to Cambridge teens.

The Conservation Commission is responsible for administration of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (WPA), a state law governing activities in and immediately adjacent to local wetlands, waterways and floodplains. The Commission holds two regularly scheduled public meetings each month to review permit applications under the WPA, issue permits and conduct other business related to the management of Cambridge’s natural resource areas.

The Mass Ave Planning Study Working Group will meet to discuss community feedback from Round 2 and provide input on the draft recommendations for South of Porter Square study area. Additionally, there will be a conversation with development experts on development feasibility currently, and the in the future, on Mass Ave.
