Learn about how Open Enrollment works and discover tools available to help you review your options. Medicare Open Enrollment is the one time of the year when all people with Medicare can review, compare, enroll or dis-enroll in Medicare Advantage, Original Medicare, and Part D drug plans. This is important because health needs may change from year to year; health or drug plan may change the costs, benefits, and drug coverage they offer; provider and pharmacy networks may change. By reviewing and comparing costs and benefits of the plans available for the upcoming year, there is potential to save money and ensure appropriate coverage. Medicare Open Enrollment runs from mid-October to early December. Coverage of all plans begins January 1 of the following year. Registration requested, but not required.

The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. For our February meeting, we will discuss The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. Attendees are invited to choose between reading the original text, the illustrated edition, the graphic adaptation, or watching the film version of this book! This study was commissioned by the Cambridge Community Development Department in response to a request from the North Cambridge Stabilization Committee (NCSC) to study safety issues around the MBTA Commuter Rail tracks in North Cambridge. A number of the Appendices to the report are also available.

The Cambridge Community Learning Center (CLC), which provides free job training and educational classes to adult learners, received 360 digital devices through MBI's Connected and Online Program. Additionally, the Cambridge Public Library announced Tech for All in March, a program funded through MBI’s Municipal Digital Equity Implementation Program and the Cambridge Public Library Foundation. Through Tech for All, 68 refurbished laptops and 83 mobile Wi-Fi hotspots were distributed to eligible Library patrons, funded by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation.

The Baker-Polito Administration announced plans to increase access to at home COVID-19 test kits for residents across the Commonwealth. The Administration has secured 2.1 million iHealth Labs over-the-counter (OTC) at-home rapid antigen tests that will be delivered to 102 towns with the highest percentage of families below the poverty level. These free tests will be available for distribution to the public by each municipality, with an emphasis on increasing access for individuals and families who are facing financial hardship.

You’re invited to our November Brewery Book Club, where Lamplighter and the Cambridge Public Library team up to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices while having a beer.
