This is a four session learn-to-play series for 12-18-year-olds! The first session we will create characters, and the following three sessions we will learn and play together. No prior DnD experience is required, and experienced players are also welcome to join. Snacks provided. Registration Recommended, participation cap of 8 players. The annual event is a fun, alternative way to share information about Cambridge water and past participants have greatly enjoyed the experience.

The City of Cambridge will once again host Danehy Park Family Day on Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Danehy Park is a 55-acre facility located at 99 Sherman Street in North Cambridge (adjacent to Garden and New Streets). The event rain date is September 28, 2024. 

The function of the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) Commission is to advocate for a culture of respect and monitor progress toward equality of all persons with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and to promote policies and practices that have a positive effect on the health, welfare, and safety of all persons who live, visit, or work in the City with respect to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. Commissioners are expected to be knowledgeable about the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals and must live or work in Cambridge.

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps income-eligible Cambridge and Somerville residents pay their winter heating bills between November 1 – April 30. Applications to HEAP are accepted beginning October 1.

Beginning next week, the City will install Phase 1 of the Brattle Street Safety Improvement Project, between Mason Street and Sparks Street.

There will be traffic impacts across the greater Boston area due to Sumner Tunnel and the MBTA Red Line closures in July 2024.

The City of Cambridge announced that it is extending its rollback to a modified Phase II, Step 2 of the Commonwealth’s Reopening Massachusetts Plan for one week and will be returning to Phase III, Step 1 effective on Monday, February 8 at 12:00 a.m.

The Baker-Polito Administration announced a series of targeted measures to disrupt the increasing trend of new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. Governor Charlie Baker announced these changes at a time where public health data has indicated that cases are rising, with cases up by 278% and hospitalizations up by 145% since Labor Day. These measures are meant to disrupt rising trends now, so the Commonwealth can keep the economy and schools open for residents and to prevent the need to roll back to Phase I or Phase II of the reopening plan.

Main Library garage will be closed Friday, July 31, through Monday, August 3, reopening for normal use on Tuesday, August 4.
