Don’t think you have what it takes to use a sewing machine? Think again! In this FREE workshop, teens from the Cambridge Community Art Center will teach you how to properly thread a machine, sew a straight stitch, hem and unfinished edge, and secure your stitches. Practice by sewing colorful shapes onto small flags. Following the workshop, the flags will be made into a banner and displayed at the Library. No experience necessary. CPD's Secret Santa for Seniors Gift Drive is Back for Its 19th Year. This program relies solely on generous donations from Cambridge businesses, residents, community members, and CPD employees. Gift bags are organized and distributed to seniors throughout the city on the days leading up to Christmas to remind them that they are not forgotten. The program is a great way to support Local Businesses and Seniors This Holiday Season. Gifts can be dropped off 24/7 at drop boxes in the first-floor main lobby of the Robert W. The City of Cambridge today announced that, beginning September 8, 2021, the City will expand its free COVID-19 testing program to four days per week with walk-in sites on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The City of Cambridge announced that, effective Monday, March 1, 2021, the City will advance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to Phase III, Step 2 of the Commonwealth’s reopening plan, with limited exceptions. An Emergency Order will be issued today by the City prohibiting live musical performances at restaurants until further notice and delaying the opening of indoor performance venues until March 22, 2021. Prior to opening, indoor performance venues will also need approval from the City of Cambridge Inspectional Services Department.
