This meeting seeks to provide an important opportunity for residents impacted by the May 11th Memorial Drive shooting to connect, process, voice thoughts and concerns, and begin to heal. Members of the Cambridge Police Department will be on hand to provide an overview of the event, explain the emergency response, and outline what to expect from the investigation and court process. Representatives from the Mayor's Office, Cambridge Public Health and the Riverside Trauma Center will also be available to share information on how community members can seek any support services.

The Family Policy Council, officially known as the Coordinating Council for Children, Youth and Families is dedicated to developing policy and program recommendations aimed at ensuring all children, youth and their families have access to what they need to be successful, engaged residents who are prepared for life in our community and in the world.

To allow women in Cambridge to gain the tools necessary to protect themselves, the Cambridge Police Department currently offers a self-defense training course for women ages 16 and older, who live or work in the City of Cambridge.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program track is for Cambridge residents who are fluent English speakers. The program provides hands-on clinical experience to people interested in careers in healthcare.

Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Snacks will be provided. For ages 7-9 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is One-Third Nerd by Gennifer Choldenko. When Liam and his two younger sisters find out they will have to give away their beloved (if unhousebroken) dog Cupcake or risk being kicked out of their apartment, they cook up extreme and hilarious schemes to keep the dog. Copies of this month's book are available at the Children's Desk. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. This month's book: Behind You Is the Sea by Susan Muaddi Darraj Reading Interests: The group concentrates on fiction and narrative nonfiction. Some past selections include: Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell, Detransition, Baby by Torrey Peters, and Beautiful Country: A Memoir by Qian Julie Wang. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library. Visit the Main Library Q&A Desk at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy.
