The City of Cambridge will renovate Raymond Park in Neighborhood Nine. The design and community engagement process will begin in early 2024, and construction is anticipated to begin in 2025.

The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. Our September book is What If We Get It Right? Visions of Climate Futures by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson. Copies are available to pick up at the Q&A desk at the Main Library and on the Libby app. This is a hybrid event. Cultural nonprofits active in Cambridge now have a little more time to turn in their applications for the Create Cambridge: Arts Nonprofit Recovery Grant, which offers COVID-19 Recovery Grants ranging from $6,000 to $30,000.

The Director of Arts & Cultural Planning works with other departments in the City to advance arts and culture as an essential component to a high quality of life in a sustainable, inclusive, and connected Cambridge.

Update: This event has been cancelled. The next Morning Bird Watching Walk at Mt. Auburn Cemetery will be held on Friday, January 30th at 10:15 a.m. Register for that walk at this link. We are sorry for the inconvenience! Join us for a morning walk at one of the most renowned bird watching spots in Cambridge, Mount Auburn Cemetery! We will help you identify birds, learn birdwatching tips and tricks, and familiarize yourself with migratory birds as well as those that can be spotted all year round. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. The walk will meet at the Collins Branch Library at 64 Aberdeen Ave at 10:15 am. We will walk to Mt. Auburn Cemetery together (about a five minute walk). Please try to be on time as we will leave shortly after 10:15! Registration is required. This event can only accommodate a certain number of participants. One registration is good for one person. If you do not register, you cannot participate. Those on the waitlist will be contacted if a space becomes available.

Parking permits allow residents and visitors to park in areas designated "Parking by Permit Only," on a first-come, first-served basis.

The New Lease Rent Relief Grant offers funds to assist with Cambridge small businesses with commercial rent. The goal of this program is to help fund small businesses in revitalizing commercial districts left with vacant storefronts due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects.

This meeting is part of the Mayor’s ongoing commitment to keeping the public informed about efforts to ensure community safety. We will provide updates on the investigations into the shootings that occurred earlier this summer and share information about the City’s continued initiatives to reduce violence. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions, express concerns, and engage in dialogue. This meeting aims to foster community involvement in identifying and implementing effective strategies to decrease violence and enhance safety in our city.
