Benches and picnic tables bring our community together. Installing new benches and picnic tables in up to 10 of our Cambridge parks will allow people of all ages and abilities to enjoy them for resting, talking, reading, people watching and being outdoors.

CloudHouse is a temporary pavilion that provides shade and seating in an active recreational area to reduce the impacts of extreme heat. The pavilion provides flexible seating and an open form that invites people to socialize, rest, and enjoy a favorite neighborhood park!

Join Chef Gaitskell Cleghorn Jr. as he prepares Jerk Chicken and Mango Salsa in celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month. Gaitskell Cleghorn Jr., professionally known as Chef Gates, is an entrepreneur and culinary educator based in Boston. He specializes in culinary education, catering, and community outreach, partnering with organizations such as the Codman Square Farmers Market and BOLD Teens. Throughout his career, he has taught at prestigious institutions, including Harvard University, as well as local schools such as Madison Park Technical Vocational High School and Boston Day & Evening Academy. His work has been featured in publications including Channel 7, Edible Boston, Boston Herald, and the Boston Globe. Additionally, he collaborated with a Master Sushi Chef to produce over 3,000 sushi plates at the New England Seafood Expo. His work on food and culture is currently featured in an Exhibit at the Boston Children’s Museum. Although he lived globally due to his father’s military service, he has spent most of his professional life in Boston, where he continues to grow as a culinary professional.

Brandon Gregory, 40, of Roxbury was placed under arrest by Cambridge Police in Central Sq. on charges related to the unlawful possession of a firearm and suspected crack cocaine.

The Affordable Housing Trust will hold its monthly meeting in-person and via Zoom webinar. July's meeting (previously scheduled for July 24) has been postponed to July 31, 2025 at 4 p.m. It will be held at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave, in the Ackerman Room. The Cambridge Police Department is pleased to announce the newest partners in the agency. Officer Omar Corona is responding to calls throughout the city involving suspicious items, possible explosive materials and firearms, and conducting other outreach with his new partner K-9 Sonny.

Renew Your Cambridge Parking Permit at the City Hall Annex by Friday, March 31. You must renew your Resident and/or Visitor Parking Permit in-person if you want to receive it before your 2022 permits expire.
