Recent Mental Health Responses and Coordinated Approaches
Four notable public safety responses have occurred since Friday. Each response involved residents who were struggling with mental health issues. Three of the four involved residents were armed. Each situation was resolved peacefully without any injuries to anyone involved and the residents were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment.

Fossil Fuel Free Ordinance
The City of Cambridge Fossil Fuel Free Ordinance is effective March 22, 2024. The ordinance requires new buildings and major renovation projects to be fossil fuel-free. Fossil fuel-free means not using oil, gas, propane, or other fossil fuels. The requirements apply to both residential and non-residential building projects.
