To celebrate Arbor Week 2026 (May 4-8), Public Works is creating a Notable Trees StoryMap, and we invite you to help shape it. Share a description, poem, love letter, or other reflection about your favorite City tree.

As we head into cooler weather, it’s time to think about flu and COVID-19 risks. Flu season will soon be upon us. Spending more time indoors means that there’s more opportunity for COVID-19 to spread. To protect against these two threats, the Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) strongly recommends that residents get an annual flu vaccine AND stay up-to-date on COVID vaccinations and boosters.

The City of Cambridge is required by state law (MGL Chapter 51 Section 4), to conduct an annual census of all residents 3 years of age and older.

Do you feel overcommitted but under connected? Over the course of this workshop we'll come together to learn, discuss, brainstorm, and provide blueprints for building deeper purpose and fostering belonging in our community. Whether you’re a student, organizer, young professional, or just someone who feels powerless, this is the place for you. We believe community is resistance. Calling all middle grade readers! Meet up in the Curious George Room every third Thursday to eat pizza and talk about books with your friends. This month's book is Plain Jane and the Mermaid. Snacks are provided. This group is for ages 10-12. Participants should read the book ahead of this month’s meeting. Registration is required. Join in for an afternoon of hands-on service projects that benefit Cambridge and Somerville residents in need. Make fleece scarves and blankets for homeless children and adults. Make Valentines for elders and veterans. Sort food, winter clothing, children’s books. Assemble toiletry kits and emergency room activity bags.

Screen on the Green offers family-friendly entertainment and movies Wednesday evenings in July and August.

Get over your fear of the blank page and start using pens, stickers, and washi in fun and creative ways.
