The Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) is a publicly-funded program that provides free, high-quality preschool for Cambridge 4-year-olds and some 3-year-olds for a school-day, school-year placement. There are additional costs for full-day, full-year (including summer) programs for some families.

Let’s talk about your favorite comics! Bring in a graphic novel and share your thoughts on why it’s great – or even why it’s terrible. Each month will feature a different reading challenge – you get to pick any comic that you think matches the theme! Celebrate comics with snacks, books, and maybe even the chance to make one yourself! This month’s theme, we're celebrating women artists! Bring in your favorite graphic novel or manga from a female creator and share it. Snacks are provided. This program is for ages 9-12. Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House is partnering with Cambridge Health Alliance for a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, August 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the 17th Annual Port Pride event. The clinic will be located at 71 Cherry Street. Everyone ages 12 and over is welcome to get a free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of immigration status. No ID or health insurance is needed.

We'll provide a hot fudge sundae bar, plates, napkins, and cutlery. Library staff will also be on hand to ask how we can be the best library for you. Tell us how you use our collections, technology, programs, services, and spaces. Share what library services have the biggest impact on you. Your feedback will help us improve services and set priorities for the coming years.

The Department of Public Works is excited to share the latest update to the City’s tree canopy assessment! The assessment was prepared by the University of Vermont’s Spatial Analysis Lab and analyzes changes to the tree canopy from 2018 through 2024. Our canopy experienced both loss and gains with an overall increase in Cambridge’s canopy by 5% from 2018 to 2024!

Albino Mbie is an award winning Musician, Guitarist, Singer, Composer, Sound and mixing engineer born in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, a country in southern Africa known for its rich musical and cultural heritage. This event is generously sponsored by The Manuel Rogers, Sr. & Mary R. Rogers Endowment Fund. In the event of rain or extreme heat, this event will be moved inside the Lecture Hall at the Main Library. All ages welcome. No registration is required.

What's a zine? And how do I make one? Come find out! Kids are invited to explore making, copying, sharing, and swapping zines. Making zines will include activities like writing, drawing, and using a photocopier. For kids ages 7 and up. Snacks are provided! This week we will host guest artist Betsey Swardlick! Betsey Swardlick is a Providence-based cartoonist, teacher, and professional wrestler all struggling to live in the same body! WHO WILL WIN?? Betsey likes to make humorous comics about weirdos trying their best (or worst), fake newspapers, and assorted other multimedia spectacles.
