The Public Works' mission is to provide dependable, high quality service - maintaining, improving and expanding a safe, healthy, attractive and inviting physical environment. Binney Street Stormwater Utility Improvements Construction Project
The City of Cambridge and DivcoWest, the developer of NorthPoint, will be implementing storm water infrastructure improvements on Binney Street. The new drainage system will be installed in Binney Street from Cardinal Medeiros Avenue to the area west of Galileo Galilei Way, through the park area to Broadway. The system will be owned and maintained by the City of Cambridge.
Cambridgeport Parks
In 2013 the City completed the renovation three neighborhood parks in Cambridgeport. Alberico Park, David Nunes (Old Morse) Park, and Fulmore Park are small to moderately sized parks located in Cambridgeport along Allston Street and Sidney Street.
Inman Square Construction Impact Mitigation
The Community Development Department and the Department of Public Works are collaborating with the East Cambridge Business Association and Inman Square Neighborhood Association to mitigate construction-related impacts on local businesses associated with the Inman Square Intersection Improvements Project.
Mass Ave Planning Study Community Meeting
The planning team will share recommendations developed with the community that will help to Make Mass Ave more beautiful, produce more housing , provide more neighborhood amenities, support small businesses, and improve sidewalks and walkability
Build Two Bus Shelters
Install bus shelters at two bus stops. Locations will be selected to benefit the greatest number of riders. Providing accessible, safe, and comfortable shelters encourages use of public transportation and supports the City's environmental goals.

River Street Reconstruction
The project will upgrade the sanitary sewer, stormwater, and water subsurface infrastructure while developing a new surface design for River Street, the bus terminal, and Carl Barron Plaza.

Install four accessible drinking fountains for residents and visitors in high foot traffic neighborhoods and parks.
