Cambridge has long been committed to taking action on climate change to reduce emissions and prepare for climate impacts. Identifying ways to make building operations less carbon-intensive is essential to reaching the city and state’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 or earlier. The Cambridge Fossil Fuel Free Ordinance will go into effect starting March 22, 2024. Here's what you need to know about the ordinance.

Pollinator gardens are gardens specifically for native plant species that provide pollinator resources for local wildlife. This project will design and plant a pollinator garden within a city park to attract and nourish native pollinators!

On June 22, 2022, “The VOTES Act” was signed into law. The VOTES Act makes several temporary election administration changes, which were instituted in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, permanent. Early voting is available to all voters for the State Election, November 8, 2022. Early voting is available by mail and in person to all registered voters and no excuse is required.

Voting has now ended for the eleventh cycle of Participatory Budgeting in Cambridge! From March 6-16, Cambridge residents could vote on projects to improve the City in PB11. Attend the PB11 Vote Results Party on March 20, 2025 at Cambridge City Hall (795 Massachusetts Avenue) from 6:00-7:30 p.m. to hear the announcement of the winning PB11 projects! This event is free for the public, food and drink will be provided.

Join the Cambridge Public Library and the International School of Boston as they collaborate to host a French story time and a music-and-movement session where children will sing, move, enjoy a classic book read aloud in French, and create a small craft to take home. Parents will walk away with simple, effective tips to support interactive reading at home. No prior French experience is needed; this program is designed to spark curiosity, build cultural awareness, and make language learning joyful for all! Recommended for youth ages 3 to 6 years with their caregiver. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program.
