Learn how to visually capture your own memoir or fictional creation in a short graphic novel through story planning, character development, and techniques for capturing emotions, motion, and time. Materials provided and no prior art or author experience needed! Registration is required, and registering for this session includes the following two Tuesdays 1/20, and 1/27. A Cambridge Arts grant program designed to inspire and support the creation of new artistic and cultural projects that reveal and respond to The Port neighborhood.

Spend your lunchtime with us for a midday party and an American Sign Language (ASL) class rolled into one! Please feel free to bring your lunch with you to the class. Light snacks will be provided! SIGNING Basics hosts this event which teaches students various ASL signs through fun games and activities for beginners or intermediate learners that have more advanced skills. Signing Rocks! events are conducted in ASL with experienced instructors. Sign language interpreting is not provided; you will learn the vocabulary as you go throughout the class. This program is great for adults, teens, and families with kids ages 7+.

Join us for a fun and interactive storytime featuring Nicolette Nordin Heavey! A renowned folk storyteller, Nicolette invites audiences to participate in creating and sharing stories together. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Cambridge Public Library.

Join us outdoors for story time, chalk drawing and a special summer treat! This program will take place in the Central Square Library Plaza. In the event of rain, this program will be moved indoors to the Lewis Room. No registration required. Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers.

Cambridge, in partnership with Watertown, was awarded a community grant from the Barr Foundation to work with the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) to pilot bus priority improvements for routes 71 and 73 along Mt. Auburn Street west of Fresh Pond Parkway. The demonstration project includes the first dedicated bus lanes in Cambridge and new bike lanes, as well as transit signal priority. It uses temporary materials like paint and signs, which will remain in place during the evaluation, and is the first step towards implementing a long-term plan for the Mt. Auburn corridor.
