CPD participated in the City of Cambridge’s candlelight vigil on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. outside City Hall. The annual vigil honors the Massachusetts women, men, and children who have tragically lost their lives to domestic violence since last October. The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for residents with low incomes or those who lost income during the pandemic. As of May 12, 2021, eligible households will be able to enroll in the program to receive a monthly discount of $50 off the cost of broadband service from an approved provider.

The City of Cambridge has announced the launch of the 12th cycle of the Participatory Budgeting (PB) process. Residents will decide how to spend $1 million for winning projects that will be included in next year’s Fiscal Year 2027 Budget. Community members can submit ideas until October 12, 2025.
