What's a zine? And how do I make one? Come find out! Kids are invited to explore making, copying, sharing, and swapping zines. Making zines will include activities like writing, drawing, and using a photocopier. For kids ages 7 and up. Snacks are provided! This week we will host guest artist Betsey Swardlick! Betsey Swardlick is a Providence-based cartoonist, teacher, and professional wrestler all struggling to live in the same body! WHO WILL WIN?? Betsey likes to make humorous comics about weirdos trying their best (or worst), fake newspapers, and assorted other multimedia spectacles.

Flyer for Role of Technology in Fair Housing Webinar

The City of Cambridge announced that on June 1, 2023, it will begin accepting applications for a new initiative called Rise Up Cambridge, which aims to alleviate poverty among struggling families in the city by building financial security. Rise Up will provide approximately 2,000 eligible families with $500 per month for 18 months.

Our Magic Tree House book group for kids ages 5-10 meets the first Friday of the month. Pick up a copy of the book beforehand. Our November book is Magic Tree House #3, "Mummies in the Morning." This event is onsite at O'Connell, with the option to attend virtually. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants 1 hour before the event. Need a laptop or hotspot to participate? The City of Cambridge and members of the local Massachusett tribe will unveil newly installed street signs in East Cambridge that will be presented in both the Massachusett and English languages.

An Excavation and Trench Permit is required if you are excavating or trenching on private property or in a public right-of-way in the City of Cambridge.

riah is a Cape Verdean-American artist from Boston with a musical style that blends alt/pop, R&B, and neo-soul. After amassing over two million combined streams with her first widely successful hit “Too Fast,” riah released her first EP “Head/Space” in 2024. Her debut album "Garden" deals with themes of self-love amidst anxiety and uncertainty, and is streaming everywhere. PARK SOUNDS 2026 brings free outdoor musical performances featuring local artists to the front lawn of the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch. These events are all-ages. Bring a chair, food, and loved ones to celebrate the summer! Funding is provided by the CPL Foundation in memory of Janet Axelrod.
