A for AI Series, Small Business Workshop, Read to a Dog and More!

The City of Cambridge encourages and promotes involvement by residents in the decision-making process through participation on a variety of boards and commissions.

The new Training Facility is in the process of being assembled on site at the rear of the East Cambridge Fire House.

Olivia Hoblitzelle will be speaking about her book Aging with Wisdom, along with an illustrated slideshow that weaves in themes such as seeing beauty in old age, the role of her spiritual practice, inspiring elders, and awakened consciousness. A question and answer period will follow.

North Cambridge, is a diverse neighborhood of over eleven thousand residents in an approximately 0.85 square mile area in the northernmost part of the city and bordered by Alewife Brook Reservation, the city of Somerville, the town of Arlington, and railroad tracks currently used by the Fitchburg Commuter Rail Branch of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA).

Join the Spot Cambridge and the Cambridge Public Library for its Shop for Free: Prom Day event. A wide range of dresses, suits, and accessories suitable for Prom will be available. All clothing and accessories are free of charge. No registration is required. All high school students, regardless of school attended or city of residence, are welcome to come Shop for Free. Enjoy art, poetry, prose, and good company at the opening reception for the North Cambridge Arts (NoCA) exhibit at the O'Neill Branch Library. Refreshments will be served. NoCa is an association of accomplished, professional visual and performing artists living and/or working in North Cambridge with a strong commitment to the neighborhood and community. NoCa includes painters, woodworkers, sculptors, photographers, jewelry makers, fabric artists, mixed-media artists, musicians, dancers, writers and poets.

Want to try your hand at poetry, or need a refresher on the fundamentals? This 2.5-hour workshop led by Jacob Anavisca will go over some of the building blocks of poetry (musicality, imagery, forms, etc.). Participants will be given generative exercises, and even learn a little about submitting their work for publication. Jacob Anavisca is an assistant editor of Only Poems literary magazine. His work has appeared in HNDL MAG. Registration is required.

Screen on the Green offers family-friendly entertainment and movies Wednesday evenings in July and August.
