Cambridge Police Safely Resolve Barricade Situation
A Cambridge man in his 40s, who had reportedly pulled a weapon on his health care worker and then barricaded himself inside his large, multi-unit Massachusetts Avenue residential building apartment, was safely taken into custody by officers and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation earlier this afternoon.

DPW Celebrates 5 Years of Citywide Curbside Compost Program
This Spring marks the five-year anniversary of the citywide curbside compost program. Since 2018, Cambridge residents have diverted more than 6,500 tons of food waste from the trash. To celebrate, the Department of Public Works Recycle Division has announced a new food waste drop-off waste site located across from 10 Education Circle in the Cambridge Crossing part of East Cambridge. Any resident may use this drop-off location to dispose of their food waste.

The guide offers a comparison of how these options differ, and outlines the process for setting up each of these arrangements. It also offers a checklist of documents that parents may want to ensure they have in a safe place and available to the child and his or her caregiver as needed, such as passports, medical records, contact information and more.
