The public patios program aims to transform bustling areas of Cambridge into vibrant social hubs by introducing simple interventions like tables and chairs, often accompanied by interactive installations. These spaces encourage chance encounters and playful pauses, fostering sociable atmospheres that enhance community connection and enrich urban life.

Alphabet Craft Time (O'Connell)
Come hear stories and songs about things that start with the letter A. and make a paper alligator to take home. We will be using scissors and glue. Recommended for ages 4-6 with a caregiver.

Live at the Library: Rosalita's Puppets: Enchanted Castle
Meet Godmother Glitter as she protects the Enchanted Castle from the dragon. Enjoy a selection of fun stories and meet all kinds of puppets from a unicorn and a rabbit to a prince and a frog.
Recommended for children ages 3 and up and their caregivers.
Banned Books All-Ages Storytime and Book Picnic (Central Square)
Join the Library, the Cambridge LGBTQ+ Commission, and YWCA Cambridge at the Central Square Branch to celebrate Banned Books Week. We'll have an all-ages storytime featuring challenged children’s books followed by a sampling of many frequently challenged and banned titles for all ages. Light refreshments.

Join us for a community viewing party of the Scotland vs. Morocco soccer match! Enjoy free food, face painting, and soccer activities. Be sure to stop by the Afro-Caribbean Night Market presented by the Cambridge–Somerville Black Business Network and celebrate Juneteenth with the Cambridge community.
Older Adult Tai Chi at Russell Youth and Community Center
This class teaches Tai Chi arm and leg movements of the yang style long form. There is a strong emphasis on Tai Chi walking, which has been known to improve balance.
