City Manager Yi-An Huang is seeking Cambridge residents, business owners, and local professionals interested in serving on the Recycling Advisory Committee (RAC) beginning in January 2023. The RAC is a volunteer committee which provides advice, recommendations, and assistance to the Department of Public Works (DPW) regarding recycling, composting, reuse, and waste reduction. The RAC does this through research, feedback, public outreach, and event planning. The RAC has helped the city implement the Zero Waste Master Plan, curbside composting, Fix-It Clinics, marketing and education, and other important initiatives that have made Cambridge a national leader in waste reduction.

The Inclusion Initiative, part of the Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP), works with parents, caregivers and City staff to support children with disabilities enrolled in DHSP Out-of-School Time programs.

Our bicycle commuter workshops are great for businesses, communities, universities, or bike groups looking to promote healthy transportation options. The workshop is designed for people who know how to ride a bike, but would like to start using their bikes to ride to work, school, or clubs. Attendees receive safety hand outs, and the instructor will have materials on hand to demonstrate principles, as well as to answer any questions attendees may have.

Albino Mbie is an award winning Musician, Guitarist, Singer, Composer, Sound and mixing engineer born in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, a country in southern Africa known for its rich musical and cultural heritage. The Cambridge Police Department’s Crime Analysis Unit has identified an uptick in housebreaks in recent months. Over the past 2-3 months, there has been an increase in housebreak activity in The Port and Mid-Cambridge neighborhoods. Entry has been through unlocked doors and windows. Targeted items include electronics, jewelry, and cash.
