Objects of Memory: Washington and Material Culture (Main/Virtual)
To mark the 250th anniversaries of the American Revolution and the founding of the United States, a coalition of local non-profits and government agencies will present Washington in American Memory, a seven-part speaker series.
Consider how Americans understand the material culture of Washington and the Revolution, including art and clothing, featuring:
Zara Anishanslin, author of The Painter’s Fire: A Forgotten History of the Artists Who Championed the American Revolution and Associate Professor of History and Art History at the University of Delaware
Horace Ballard, author of Superfine: George Washington and the Free and Enslaved Men Who Dressed Him (forthcoming) and the Theodore E. Stebbins, Jr. Curator of American Art at the Harvard Art Museums

Calling all bakers for a cake potluck! Make a cake and come bring it to share with others. Everyone will go home with slices of different cakes to sample.
Various baking and cake cookbooks are available for pickup at the Branch.

Work with Perler Beads to follow a pattern or create your own unique design. We'll fuse the finished product into place for you to take home and share with your valentine.

Meet Your Neighbor Day 2022
Residents are encouraged to organize gatherings that bring their neighbors together on Sunday, Sept. 18. Ideas include an open house, neighborhood party, potluck, service project, neighborhood clean-up.

Summer Reading: Crafternoon Dinosaur Airplanes (Collins)
Instructions and supplies will be provided for an afternoon activity. Learn to fold paper airplanes inspired by flying dinosaurs. We'll follow complex instructions and share flying tips to make these Jurassic models. Recommended for ages 6-12 with a caregiver.
