Parent/Child (Ages 7-9) Book Group (Main)
Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Snacks will be provided. For ages 7-9 and a parent or caregiver.
This month's book is One-Third Nerd by Gennifer Choldenko. When Liam and his two younger sisters find out they will have to give away their beloved (if unhousebroken) dog Cupcake or risk being kicked out of their apartment, they cook up extreme and hilarious schemes to keep the dog. Copies of this month's book are available at the Children's Desk.
Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family.
For questions about parent/child book group, please email Rachel: rbeaton@cambridgema.gov

Halloween Party Ft. Prof Bugman (O'Connell)
Join us for our Halloween celebration with a special appearance from Professor Bugman! His "Spooky Bones and Creepy Crawlies" program focuses on comparative skeletal anatomy. We will handle and pass around real animal bones, skulls and skeletons while talking about what bones are, what they do, and how to tell them apart, and learning more about the animal they came from. Then, we'll dive in and compare this to the exoskeletons of arthropods, focusing on a selection of our creepier bugs. Prof. Bugman will begin at 4:30.
Treats provided and costumes encouraged!
This program is for children and their caregivers.
Emergency Planning Guide - Haitian Creole
The guide outlines care and custody options, including caregiver authorization, temporary agent authorization, and guardianship of a minor. The guide offers a comparison of how these options differ, and outlines the process for setting up each of these arrangements. It also offers a checklist of documents that parents may want to ensure they have in a safe place and available to the child and his or her caregiver as needed, such as passports, medical records, contact information and more.
