Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The end of March marked five years since Mitchel Iviquel was last seen by her family, but despite all the time that has passed Cambridge Police are still working to locate her. An Army Veteran who had been deployed overseas, Iviquel was thought to be unhoused in the Central Square area at the time of her disappearance.

Youth ages 10+ are welcome to join us for a single session of cooperative storytelling and role-play table-top game Dungeons & Dragons. Youth who have never played are encouraged to Try it!, youth with DnD experience are welcome. No registration required. May Selection: The Seven Dials Mystery by Agatha Christie. This book group will meet virtually and in person at the Boudreau Branch. We will discuss current and classic mystery titles. Please register below if you would like to attend via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants one hour before the event. Based on the information the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has shared, Phase Two will begin on February 1st and only those 75 years and older (and those who qualify as part of Phase One) will be able to register for a vaccination appointment using the map on the state’s website. At this point, we do not have indications of when other groups in Phase Two will be able to register for and receive the vaccine. When the state shares additional information, we will post it on our dedicated vaccine information page at www.cambridgema.gov/vaccine.

Experience the vibrant rhythms of Haitian Folklore in a class led by JAE company dancer Velouse Joseph. Class is accessible to all levels and welcomes kids of all ages and their caregivers. Class includes a guided warm-up followed by traditional Haitian dances. You'll move to the sounds of prerecorded Haitian rhythms as you connect to culture, community, and the joy of movement. PanNeubean Steel is a dynamic steelpan guided ensemble delivering vibrant Caribbean rhythms with modern flair. Rooted in tradition and driven by innovation, the band brings energy, precision, and crowd-moving performances to every stage—celebrating culture, community, and the unmistakable sound of steel. PARK SOUNDS 2026 brings free outdoor musical performances featuring local artists to the front lawn of the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch. These events are all-ages. Bring a chair, food, and loved ones to celebrate the summer! Funding is provided by the CPL Foundation in memory of Janet Axelrod.

The City of Cambridge is moving forward with safety upgrades on Main Street, building on the foundation laid by community outreach efforts in 2023 through the Main Street Safety Improvement Project. These changes aim to enhance safety and accessibility for all road users by installing separated bike lanes, improving pedestrian crossings, and introducing measures to slow vehicle speeds.
