Fees charged when applying for a plumbing permit

Cambridge Veterans' Services and various City and State Officials held a special ceremony in honor of National Purple Heart Day on Wednesday, August 7, in the Sullivan Chamber of Cambridge City Hall. Speakers included Cambridge Mayor E. Denise Simmons, Cambridge Deputy City Manager Owen O'Riordan, and Deputy Director of Cambridge Veterans' Services Cynthia Harris. During the ceremony, City officials, speaking on behalf of the City of Cambridge, offered their deepest gratitude and heartfelt respect to those who sacrificed much in service to their country.

Cambridge United – Where the World Comes Together will encompass a citywide series of free World Cup watch parties in June-July 2026, bringing the excitement of the world’s most-watched sporting event to public spaces across the community.

The Cambridge Public Library will display “Still Marching 1970-2017" by award-winning filmmaker and photographer, Liane Brandon.

Kick off Black History Month with a night of jazz and poetry on February 7.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Tom Lin—Carnegie Medal-winning author of The Thousand Crimes of Ming Tsu, and professor of English and creative writing at the University of Iowa—for a discussion of his highly anticipated new novel, Babylon, South Dakota. Registration is required.

Commissioner Christine Elow and the Cambridge Police Department want to invite the community to two events scheduled next week: Coffee with a Cop Day on October 5 and Creating Connections, a community fair with Cambridge’s faith-based organizations on October 8.

The agreement is intended to increase public contracting opportunities for minority-owned (MBEs), veteran-owned (VBEs), women-owned (WBEs), and other historically disadvantaged business enterprises.
