The mission of the Cambridge Public Health Department is to improve the quality of life for all who live, learn, work, and play in the city by preventing illness and injury; encouraging healthy behaviors; and ensuring safe and healthy environments.

In FY22, the Information Technology Department (ITD) bolstered the resilience and protection of City systems and information amidst rising cybersecurity threats and rolled out new tools, training, and support to expand hybrid work environments as COVID-19 impacted onsite workforce availability.

The City is committed to ensuring the Cambridge community has access to non police responses to crisis situations and creating a sense of safety for all who live, work, play and pray here. The development of the new Community Safety Department is guided by an understanding that a compassionate response to a mental health crisis is optimal for healing and de-escalation.

The Cambridge Police Department has a Family and Social Justice section that focuses on connecting with and directing resources to our most vulnerable populations. During the cold-weather months, this work is even more critical. FSJS builds relationships and trust all year to increase the chances our unhoused will consider assistance.

You’ll learn key terms, how to navigate web browsers, use search engines effectively, and explore websites with confidence. We'll also show you how to apply these skills to search for jobs online—all in a friendly, supportive environment. Since Friday, October 2, seven residents of a Cambridge skilled nursing facility have tested positive for COVID-19. Five of the seven individuals are current residents of the facility; the other two individuals were discharged from the facility prior to testing positive and no longer reside in Cambridge. In addition, one facility employee who does not reside in Cambridge has tested positive for COVID-19.
