Join us to learn about the transformative power of prison gardens for people who are incarcerated. First, we’ll watch the award-winning 30-minute documentary, Seeds of Change, about a five-acre prison garden in Maine that has offered a gateway to wellness and dignity for prisoners. Following the documentary, the New Garden Society will present and answer questions about the work they do with prison gardens in the Greater Boston area.

Join us for a simple discussion on the life cycle of a plant, then make some seed art to take home! Recommended for children ages 5 and up and their caregivers. This program can accommodate 50 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. Unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Alpacas from the Harvard Alpaca Ranch will be visiting the library for an educational program and meet and greet. Join us to learn more about alpacas and take some time to say hello! This event is intended for school-age children. No registration required.
