This project will fund the purchase of 300-350 bilingual books for Cambridge children in the Agenda for Children’s Literacy Initiative project who are learning English, learning to read, and have limited/no access to books in their home language.

The City of Cambridge last night became the first known city in the country to mandate non-residential buildings to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions with a net zero goal by 2035 for large buildings and 2050 for mid-size buildings.

Many of our schools, hospitals and senior living facilities are located on busy streets. This project will enable the city to install comprehensive Complete Streets treatments at one or more intersections around these facilities to improve pedestrian safety in Cambridge

This proposal will install new signs and maps at Danehy Park. Existing signs are broken, outdated, or missing making it difficult to navigate the 50-acre park. New signs will make Danehy inviting and easy to navigate for all visitors.

Based on the information the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has shared, Phase Two will begin on February 1st and only those 75 years and older (and those who qualify as part of Phase One) will be able to register for a vaccination appointment using the map on the state’s website. At this point, we do not have indications of when other groups in Phase Two will be able to register for and receive the vaccine.
