The City of Cambridge announced that, after consultation with the Cambridge Commissioner of Public Health and the Cambridge Public Health Department, masks will be required in all City buildings to protect the health and well-being of employees and visitors.

Expand the City’s bike safety education offerings by providing learn-to-bike and beginner urban cycling workshops for adults. More educational opportunities will empower more people to feel safe and comfortable using bikes to get around the city.

Cambridge is the first city in Massachusetts to invest in a local solar project using contributions from its electricity aggregation program. A 540-panel installation added to Graham & Parks School in September was paid for and is collectively owned by the 41,000 customers of Cambridge Community Electricity (CCE) aggregation program.

The Fund has distributed 42 grants with an average award of $103,000. The City of Cambridge is taking another step toward reducing noise and air pollution by officially prohibiting the use of gas-powered leaf blowers and requiring all users to transition to electric or battery-powered leaf blowers. This initiative aligns with the city’s commitment to protecting public health and reducing harmful emissions.

Join the Council on Aging and Community Development Department this spring for strength training, on-bike skills, and group rides. These opportunities are offered through the Healthy Aging & Cycling series and are open to Cambridge residents ages 60 and older.
