The Cambridge Public Library and Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School are excited to offer Estate Planning for All. Estate plans can help you prepare for unexpected changes, offer a sense of security in uncertain times, and ensure that your wishes will be carried out if you become ill, incapacitated, or die unexpectedly. Everyone—regardless of background or financial situation—can have an estate plan. We will discuss: Financial issues during our lifetimes: power of attorney, homestead declaration, and trusts Health and medical issues: health care proxy, medical directives, and HIPAA authorization Preparing for death: wills and declaration as to remains Estate planning issues specific to veterans and individuals with disabilities will also be discussed. We will adapt the tale "The Tortoise and the Hare" and perform our masterpiece for family and friends. Using a ChompSaw (a kid-safe power tool), participants will safely cut cardboard to create shadow puppets. This four-week puppetry workshop is for youth ages 7-10. We will meet on March 5, 12, 19 and 26. Registration is required. Participants much attend all sessions and have read a version of the tale before the first session. Participants will explore how to build and develop a D&D character, gaining the skills to recreate or expand their own characters in the future. This event is recommended for children ages 8 and up. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Join us for a game of chess at the O'Neill Branch! Players of all skill levels and all ages are welcome to participate. Chess sets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. This is a space for individuals to play and test their skills against other members of the community. This is not an instructional class. Can a robot be a friend? Can a robot help do your chores? An educator from the Museum of Science leads Robot Storytime to explore these questions through an original story. After the story, participants can interact with a robot dog! No registration required. Recommended for ages 0-7 with a caregiver.
