Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale announced today that the City of Cambridge Relief and Recovery Programs, the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund for small businesses, and the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA) Zero-Interest Loan program is distributing nearly $3.6 Million to Cambridge small businesses financially impacted by the COVID-19 public health crisis.

Cambridge Police, Cambridge Fire, Cambridge Emergency Communications, Pro EMS, Massachusetts State Police, and CambridgeSide Public Safety will conduct an active shooter training exercise at CambridgeSide to practice communication and coordination among First Responders regarding emergency preparedness and response.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Megha Majumdar—author of the New York Times bestselling novel A Burning—for a discussion of her new novel A Guardian and a Thief. The Outstanding Employee Awards program recognizes City employees nominated for superior performance, positive attitude, hard work, and dedication to public service. The Brian Murphy Award for Leadership in the Workplace and Public Service is a distinguished recognition given to leaders who display extraordinary qualities in the workplace and dedication to community service. Recipients were honored at a special ceremony on May 17.
