The last Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day of 2022 for residents only will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at 50 Mooney Street. Please enter the event via Smith Place off of Concord Avenue. The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and Cambridge Police Department will be on site to assist with traffic.

Designed for teens and adults of all fitness levels, this session explores how to build strength, improve balance, and move with greater confidence in everyday life. Through clear instruction and gentle, accessible demonstrations, participants will learn how simple movement patterns can enhance stability, coordination, and independence over time. Shaun also highlights the connection between physical confidence and emotional well-being, offering practical tools to help individuals feel more secure, capable, and empowered in their daily lives. All exercises are adaptable, with options performed seated or standing, making the program inclusive and approachable for a wide range of abilities. Registration is preferred not required.

Drop in and learn the basics of rope tying, knotting, and lashing from local Troop 56! No experience required, these scouts will give hands on demonstrations for any learner. All ages are welcome, no tickets are required. Pizza will be provided.

The City of Cambridge Pandemic Collaborative and its partners is offering upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics. These clinics are free. No appointment is required, and you do not need insurance, an ID, or a social security number to get the vaccine. Getting a vaccine will NOT affect a public charge determination or immigration status.

First step in the hiring process for CPD and many other agencies is to take the Massachusetts Civil Service Police Exam. Polity Research Consulting conducted a biennial survey of 400 adult residents of the City of Cambridge between Sept. 9-13, 2020. Affordable housing is still the number one issue facing residents (30%) -- and the top issue residents want the City to address. COVID-19 and education are also high on the issues list.
