You’re invited to our July Brewery Book Club, where Lamplighter and the Cambridge Public Library team up to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices while having a beer. We meet at Lamplighter Brewing Co., 284 Broadway, in the back taproom. This month we’ll read Death of the Soccer God by Dimitry Elias Legér. Copies of the book are available at the Main Library Q&A Desk. The e-book and digital audiobook can be borrowed through the Libby app. We’ll gather in the Lamplighter back taproom to discuss the book, what we learned from it, what we found ourselves touched by, and all other thoughts. The City of Cambridge announced the creation of a COVID-19 Housing Stabilization Program to provide short-term financial assistance to individuals and families in Cambridge who are experiencing housing instability due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instructions and supplies will be provided for an afternoon activity. Work with Perler Beads to follow a pattern or create your own unique design. We'll fuse the finished product into place for you to take home. Recommended for ages 6-12 with a caregiver.

Why does the Massachusetts State flag matter? Learn about the history and significance of the Massachusetts state seal, flag, and motto from Sage Carbone and David Shane Lowry. Think more deeply about your community's symbols and better understand why our state flag must be changed. This discussion is inspired by the Massachusetts Seal, Flag, and Motto Advisory Commission’s open call to artists, historians, educators, students, and members of the public to participate in the effort to redesign the state’s seal, flag, and motto. Established by the Legislature in 2024, the Commission is tasked with developing and recommending new symbols to represent the state through a statewide public process. Our monthly Middle Grade Mystery book group is for kids aged 10-14. Check out a copy of the book beforehand, or download it from the Libby app. Our October book is Return to Howliday Inn by James Howe.
