Students will learn how to approach a human portrait drawing from start to finish. The class is offered as part of the pilot program at Russell Youth and Community Center.

Join the Cambridge Public Library in celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month by welcoming Yiyun Li, the author of the memoir Things in Nature Merely Grow, the winner of the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Memoir, as well as several award-winning novels, including The Book of Goose. In addition to the Pulitzer Prize, Things in Nature Merely Grow was a finalist for both the National Book Award for Nonfiction and the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award as well as the recipient of the presitigious Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction. After a reading from her work, Yiyun will appear in conversation with Grace Talusan, author of The Body Papers, winner of the Massachusetts Book Award for Nonfiction and the Restless Books Award for New Immigrant Writing. This hybrid event is cosponsored by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation. Registration is required.

Calling all middle grade readers! Meet up in the Curious George Room every third Thursday to eat pizza and talk about books with your friends. This month's book is Plain Jane and the Mermaid. Snacks are provided. This group is for ages 10-12. Participants should read the book ahead of this month’s meeting. Registration is required. Through her artistry, she strives to inspire others with music that reflects real-life experiences in hopes of connecting with vast audiences. PARK SOUNDS 2026 brings free outdoor musical performances featuring local artists to the front lawn of the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch. These events are all-ages.
