The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. Our September book is What If We Get It Right? Visions of Climate Futures by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson. Copies are available to pick up at the Q&A desk at the Main Library and on the Libby app. This is a hybrid event. Liane Brandon’s photographs of the historic International Women’s Day March of 1970 and the Boston Women’s March of 2017 will be on exhibit. The photographs of the International Women's March are of great historical impact and are, additionally, beautiful works of art in and of themselves. Viewing times are as follows: Saturday, 3/15: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, 3/18: 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, 3/19: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, 3/20: 5-8 p.m. Saturday, 3/22: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, 3/25: 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, 3/26: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, 3/27: 5-8 p.m. Liane Brandon received funding for "Still Marching" through a Local Cultural Council Grant from Cambridge Arts.

Join us outdoors for story time, chalk drawing and a special summer treat! This program will take place in the Central Square Library Plaza. In the event of rain, this program will be moved indoors to the Lewis Room. No registration required. Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers.

Class on June 3 has been cancelled. Due to the popularity of Sifu Diaz's classes, we expect participants to attend all sessions and participation in this program will be decided by lottery. Join us in this twelve-week Tai Chi Paradigm practice, which focuses on the mind and body connection. Tai Chi is a fluid sequence of movements choreographed in a low impact routine. This is an in-person event at the Valente Branch. [registration for this program is closed] To enter the lottery, please register for the waitlist below. This waitlist will constitute the pool from which 15 names will be drawn randomly. Registration will open Wednesday, March 4 at 9AM and close Wednesday, April 1 at 5PM. This event is canceled. We have rescheduled the program for Saturday, August 15 (link). Delve into the wonders of the natural world. Attendees will learn about different types of animal homes and use them to inspire their own creation. Recommended for ages 8-13. This program can accommodate 12 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly.
