The CHA is starting the zoning and permitting process for the Modernization of Corcoran Park under the City’s new Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO). As part of the Five-Year Street and Sidewalk Reconstruction Plan, Huron Ave, from Fresh Pond Place to Fresh Pond Parkway, is scheduled for reconstruction. This project will include paving, sidewalk improvements and utility installations. Cushing Plaza, located at Cushing Street and Huron Avenue, is scheduled for reconstruction to allow stormwater to infiltrate and provide enhanced biochar and compost soil for the new trees and garden plantings.

The prevalence rates of domestic and gender-based violence are staggering. They are issues that impact all of us and also issues that many people struggle to understand. The DGBVPI works to raise public awareness and understanding through trainings, social media campaigns, visual displays, workshops, etc. The Initiative also works with various organizations to create prevention strategies that are appropriate for their needs, setting, and population.
