City of Cambridge to Host Danehy Park Family Day September 21
The City of Cambridge will once again host Danehy Park Family Day on Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Danehy Park is a 55-acre facility located at 99 Sherman Street in North Cambridge (adjacent to Garden and New Streets). The event rain date is September 28, 2024.
Volunteers Sought to Serve on the Cambridge LGBTQ+ Commission (Application Deadline 3-25-24)
The function of the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) Commission is to advocate for a culture of respect and monitor progress toward equality of all persons with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and to promote policies and practices that have a positive effect on the health, welfare, and safety of all persons who live, visit, or work in the City with respect to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. Commissioners are expected to be knowledgeable about the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals and must live or work in Cambridge.
Remember to Wear Face Coverings When Outside Your Home
In keeping with the recommendation of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Cambridge Public Health Department, the City of Cambridge is strongly recommending that residents wear face coverings anytime they are outside of their home.
Baker-Polito Administration Announces Plans to Close Preregistration System; Expand Homebound Vaccination Program
The Baker-Polito Administration today announced plans to close the Commonwealth’s vaccine preregistration system by the end of May. The COVID-19 Vaccine Finder at vaxfinder.mass.gov will remain available, with over 900 locations listed across the state. The Administration also announced the expansion of the state’s Homebound Vaccination Program to support in-home vaccinations for all eligible residents who are unable to get to a vaccine site, beginning Monday, May 24.
