Celebrate reading with fellow new readers at the Valente Branch Library! We will explore a book from the Beginning Reader collection, spend time reading together, and do an activity! Copies of the book will be provided via the library; participants may check out a copy to take home after the program. This is open to students in kindergarten through second grade who are practicing reading independently; their grown-ups are welcome to join us. Registration is required. Are you curious about poop? This program goes down the sewer, out into space, deep under the sea and back to the time of the dinosaurs to explore what happens to all of our poop. Susie Maguire at The Poop Museum is a poop expert who thinks poop is THE most interesting subject in the world. She has studied poop for years and loves nothing more than sharing her expansive knowledge of poop. Recommended for children ages 5-10 years old and their caregivers.

Signs for Inclusion: Fun & Practical ASL for Everyday Communication Join us for a fun, interactive introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) and inclusive communication. Participants will learn practical everyday signs, respectful ways to interact with Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, expressive communication techniques, and simple real-life ASL scenarios. This activity-based workshop includes silent communication challenges, group participation, and engaging sign language games designed to build confidence and connection through communication. Join Navigation Games for Leprechaun Orienteering, a free and fun outdoor event for all ages at Kingsley Park in Fresh Pond Reservation. Teams of 2–4 people will travel through the park and use a special map to look for checkpoints — before tricky leprechauns move them! The event is sponsored by the City of Cambridge.
