Cambridge Man Arrested for Trafficking Drugs in Central Square
The Cambridge Police Department today announced the recovery of 89.65 grams of crack cocaine in a Central Square residence. Cedric Ingram, 57, of Cambridge, was arrested and charged with trafficking more than 36 grams of cocaine, subsequent possession with intent to distribute, and drug violation within school or park zone.

The beauty and ecological health of our Reservation requires constant care! Invasive weeds, which threaten wildlife habitat and Fresh Pond’s forests, meadows and wetlands, are a top concern. Volunteer weeding events are ongoing throughout the fall. Beginners are welcome. Learn about local botany and ecology while helping the Reservation! Long sleeves and pants are recommended to prevent contact with poison ivy. Tecnu will be available. Temporary parking permits will be available for free for volunteers coming from out of town.
Wednesday evening weeding sessions occur through September, meeting at the trailer in the Cambridge Water Department parking lot at 250 Fresh Pond Parkway.
Public Works Announces 2025 Commissioner's Award Winners
As part of a national celebration of Public Works Week, the Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Kathy Watkins and other City officials recently honored the recipients of the 2025 Commissioner’s Award for Outstanding Performance during a ceremony at the DPW yard. The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the weekend due to scheduled community events on May 16-18, 2025. Events include Saint Anthony’s Santo Cristo Feast, Port Art Fest, the Peoples Party Music Festival, the 72nd Annual BB&N Circus, and Inman Eats & Crafts.
