The public patios program aims to transform bustling areas of Cambridge into vibrant social hubs by introducing simple interventions like tables and chairs, often accompanied by interactive installations. This issue of Cambridge Life celebrates the transformation happening across our City and neighborhoods. Infrastructure projects—large and small—are reshaping how we move, learn, live, and work. They represent years of thoughtful planning, robust community engagement, and a collective commitment to equity and resilience.

Over the course of the last year plus, I have worked hard to balance the many voices in our diverse community, find consensus within the City Council and follow their direction, and bring forward the professional experience and expertise of City department leaders and staff.

The Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA), in partnership with the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House (MFNH), plans to develop a portion of the MFNH lot, located at 71 Cherry Street, into new affordable homeownership units. This development will happen in conjunction with the revitalization of the MFNH. The CRA plans on creating these new housing units under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO).

The Affordable Housing Trust will hold its monthly meeting in-person and via Zoom webinar. January's meeting will be held on January 23rd at 4 p.m. at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave, in the Ackerman Room. Register to join the January 2025 Affordable Housing Trust meeting.

Sixth Street between Cambridge Street and Bent Street is currently scheduled for roadway work in the summer of 2018 as part of the City's 5 Year Street & Sidewalk Plan.

St. Mary Road, between Inman Street and Prospect Street, is scheduled for street and sidewalk reconstruction in 2018 as part of the City's 5 Year Sidewalk & Street Reconstruction Plan.
