The vision for the Concord Alewife area is to encourage a mix of uses that over time will enliven the area, create an identity and sense of place, and take advantage of the area’s proximity to transit and to open space resources.

Help us kick off the new school year with CYAS- Cambridge Young Authors' Squad. Young people ages 10 to 14 who love to write are welcome to share their ideas and writing. Join us for the 3rd Annual Spelling Bee. The spelling bee aims to enhance the spelling and vocabulary skills of contestants while promoting reading, writing, and appreciation for the power of words. Community members are invited to attend the finals to provide support and cheer on contestants. Cosponsored by the Fletcher Maynard Academy, My Brother's Keeper Cambridge, Sisters with a Dream, and Cambridge Public Library.

The Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) is a publicly-funded program that provides free, high-quality preschool for Cambridge 4-year-olds and some 3-year-olds for a school-day, school-year placement. There are additional costs for full-day, full-year (including summer) programs for some families. Cambridge children who will turn 3 or 4 years old by August 31, 2027 are elgible to apply.

Learn to use the Gif-O-Graf machines with some horror themed stop motion. This class will show you how to use the Gif-O-Graf machines from the Hive and give you a chance to do something yourself. You can even save your story to watch later! Space is limited. Special event tickets will be available at the third floor Children's desk prior to program start time. Come to the library in your pajamas to listen to stories, read with your children, and enjoy a snack before bed! This program is recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. This program will happen outside. In case of rain or bad weather it will be inside the O'Neill Branch. Pajama Story Time is presented by the Cambridge Public Library and the Center for Families.
