The Solar Assistance Program provides no-cost support to Cambridge businesses, non-profits, and owners of commercial and large residential buildings, making it easy to install solar on their roof.

In 2023, structural deficiencies were identified in the nine-story building at 221 Mount Auburn Street, the Riverview Condominiums. During exploratory work for roof and drainage repairs, engineers discovered that the building was not built as originally designed. To reduce the weight in the building, all residents moved out by the end of 2024. After evaluating various repair options, the Condo Association has concluded that fixing the building is not feasible, and it will need to be taken down. The City is working closely with the Condo Association on reviewing the situation and planning for demolition of the nine-story building.

Eligible households can reduce monthly costs of a new or existing internet service and get a one-time discount up to a $100 for laptop or tablet.

Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Each month will feature a different reading challenge – you get to pick any comic that you think matches the theme! Exercise is crucial to health and wellbeing. This project will install a permanent outdoor fitness station to make outdoor exercise more accessible to the Cambridge community.

As a group we'll connect with and explore the neighborhood mindfully with a gentle walk and draw on contemplative practices. What to bring: layered clothing, comfortable shoes and water. The City of Cambridge Housing Department and Affordable Housing Trust (CAHT) are hosting a virtual community meeting to provide updates about process to redevelop Vail Court, 139 Bishop Allen Drive as affordable housing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Treat yourself to an afternoon of fun, creativity, and community while a local artist guides us step-by-step through the process of painting a beautiful art piece, suitable for hanging on your door or wall. Tea and light refreshments provided. No experience necessary. All are welcome. Old clothing recommended, as acrylic paint can stain. Seating is limited to 8. Registration is required and will open November 24.
