The Cambridge Public Library and the African Bridge Network (ABN) are offering an AI training for people looking for jobs. This training will teach you how to use AI tools safely and effectively to help with your career. Through the workshops, participants will learn strategies to: Find better ways to look for jobs Update and customize resumes for different positions Practice and prepare for job interviews Get help dealing with common challenges in today’s job market This training is a four-part workshop series. Participants who complete all sessions may be eligible to receive a free refurbished laptop and wi-fi hotspot. Sessions will be held in-person at the Main Library (449 Broadway) on the following Saturdays: March 14, March 21, March 28 and April 4. Each session will be held from 1pm to 4pm. Space is limited. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and accepted until spots are filled or the deadline passes. Apply by March 1, 2026. Information about curbside recycling in Cambridge

More than five acres of new and renovated public open space will be created in Kendall Square and Eastern Cambridge over the next few years. The Eastern Cambridge Kendall Square Open Space (ECKOS) Planning Study is working to shape these new parks.

The purpose of this study was to determine current and future energy demand, assess the potential for renewable energy generation in Cambridge, develop technical scenarios for renewable energy delivery systems, and evaluate the risks, benefits, and feasibility of each scenario along with discussion of potential implementation pathways.

Results from this survey will help the Massachusetts Department of Public Health act and address the most critical needs, partner with communities to support local efforts, and inform state policy with accurate information on what people need now and in the long term.

A Moving Container/Crate Permit allows you to reserve curb space for the purpose of placing a crate or container on a City street while moving goods in or out of a building. These permits are issued for three consecutive days.

A community meeting has been scheduled to discuss a shooting on January 13 that resulted in a 21-year-old man being tragically killed outside of a Clifton Street residence. The meeting will include the latest information on the shooting. The preliminary investigation suggested the fatal shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the general public.

This week's selection: Tony Kushner, Angels in America Reading Interests: We concentrate on Great Books in the following areas: a long novel over the summer, two sections of poetry and short stories, a book of the Bible, a Shakespeare play, an ancient and modern drama, a work of science, a smaller work of fiction, an even smaller work of fiction, and a rotating mix of politics, philosophy, and religion. Authors read in the past five years include Dickens, Keats and Yeats, O'Connor and Munro, Ecclesiastes, Sophocles and August Wilson, Darwin, Austen, Duras, The Federalist Papers, and Arendt.
