The City of Cambridge and the State of Massachusetts have a shared goal of reducing our production of climate-change-causing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by the year 2050. As part of these efforts, the Cambridge City Council passed the Green Jobs Ordinance in 2023 to connect Cambridge residents to green jobs and training. Green jobs are well-paying and they make a difference! We can help you explore and apply to green jobs that are interesting to you.

Join us for a chess challenge. Players of all skill levels and all ages are welcome to participate. Chess sets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. This is not an instructional class, but rather a gathering for individuals who want to play and test their skills against other members of the community. There's no need to register in advance - simply drop by and challenge yourself to improve your mastery of this classic game! Children and their grown-ups are invited to this special kid-centered cookbook club! This month, we're celebrating flatbreads of all varieties (pizzas included!) Bring a dish to share, or just come to talk about your experience with a chosen cookbook. No need to bring a dish to join. Darning is a fabric mending technique that involves reinforcing or re-weaving a portion of fabric by hand. In this workshop, we’ll learn how to visibly mend holes and weak areas in sweaters, socks, and other knit fabrics using seed stitch and square darning techniques. You’ll leave with a sampler of both techniques that you can refer back to when tackling your own darning projects at home. Suitable for beginners with little or no darning experience, though it does help if you have some experience with hand sewing.
