The Cambridge Police Department and local partners will be hosting a Touch-A-Truck event outside the Robert W. Healy Public Safety Building on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 11:00am - 2:00pm. In recognition of Autism Awareness / Acceptance Month this will be a sensory friendly event.

Safer Crosswalks for Busy Roads
Install flashing light signs on six crosswalks that pedestrians can activate before crossing the street. These flashing signs make drivers more aware of crossing pedestrians to help prevent crashes, especially at night.

Expanding Space for Street Trees
Help our environment by removing pavement to expand space for new and existing trees. Removing pavement provides more soil space for tree roots, helps trees live longer and healthier, improves drainage, and reduces city heat.
Roadway Paving Enhancements Beginning Week of July 20
Beginning the week of July 20, weather permitting, the City’s contractor, Newport Construction, will be performing roadway milling (grinding) and paving operations to enhance the road conditions on several sections of street around the City.
