Maple Sugaring with Land's Sake Farm (Valente)
Learn about the local tradition of turning maple sap into maple syrup with Land's Sake Farm! Enjoy a maple sugaring themed story time, touch and explore the tools we use to make maple syrup, and try using hand drills to tap a demonstration log. This program is recommended for children ages 4 and up. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required - please register only the children who will be attending the program.
Teen Book Group (Main)
In this monthly book group for readers 15-18 years old, we will read contemporary titles written for a general adult audience that have broad appeal for teens. Pizza provided. For our first meeting, we will discuss some of our favorite books and vote for our first selection. Registration encouraged but not required. Summer Reading: Kamishibai Storytelling with Yumi Izuyama (O'Connell)
Kamishibai (paper theater) is a traditional form of Japanese street theater and storytelling where author illustrator Yumi Izuyama uses her original artwork to tell folktales from around the world, bringing them to life for families with young children. A second generation Japanese Brazilian, Izuyama will educate and entertain us using Kamishibai with both traditional Japanese and Brazilian folktales! Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Cambridge Public Library.
O'Neill Branch Book Group (O'Neill)
September Selection: Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner A book discussion group for adults at the O'Neill Branch Library, reading a mixture of fiction and nonfiction. Past titles include Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer and Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell. Print copies are available for pickup at the O'Neill Branch Library. This month's book selection is also available as an ebook and digital audiobook through Libby/OverDrive.

Summer Reading: Block Party (O'Neill)
Celebrate the end of summer with neighbors old and new! We will have free food, games, crafts, bubbles and a clothing swap! All neighbors of any age are welcome. At 3:30 p.m. we will have a family-friendly concert with music by Music at the Blissful. This event will happen outside. In case of rain or bad weather there will be modified activities inside the O'Neill Branch.
Contemporary Book Group (Main)
This month's book: Angel Down by Daniel Kraus Reading Interests: The group concentrates on fiction and narrative nonfiction. Some past selections include: An Oral History of Atlantis by Ed Park, The Lilac People by Milo Todd, and Searches by Vauhini Vara. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library. Visit the Main Library Q&A Desk at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. How to get the e-book or digital audiobook: This month’s book is available as an e-book and digital audiobook through OverDrive or the Libby app. The e-book is also available through Hoopla. Older Adult Mat Yoga
Looking for an hour of self-renewal? Mat Yoga includes 30 minutes of floor postures which allow the spine to be relaxed and non-weight bearing. The class is taught at a moderate level.
