Come to the Library for games and a different activity each week! Kids of all ages can hang out and do crafts or STEAM activities. No registration required. This week we will be building with LEGOs and other toys.

Trace the city's bow tie shape on the annual Bow Tie Bike Ride, hosted by the Cambridge Bicycle Committee and Department of Transportation! This relaxed, family-friendly ride will start and end at Sennott Park—rain or shine—near the intersection of Broadway and Tremont St. The ride will leave promptly at 10:00 a.m. and return by noon. Bike mechanics will be available before the ride to make quick safety checks. No bike? No problem! Anyone 16 and older can request a free Bluebikes pass by Thursday, October 1, by emailing bluebikes@cambridgema.gov. You will need the Bluebikes app to redeem the pass. Stay tuned for route updates by signing up for Community Bike Ride email alerts or by checking the Cambridge Bike Rides website as we get closer to the October 3. There is no registration or charge for the tour—just show up and enjoy!

This month we are celebrating Banned Books Week with one of the most censored books in the nation: Flamer by Mike Curato A book discussion group for adults at the O'Neill Branch Library, reading a mixture of fiction and nonfiction. Past titles include Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer and Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell. Print copies are available for pickup at the O'Neill Branch Library. This month's book selection is also available as a digital audiobook through Libby/OverDrive.

The Leaf Blower Ordinance will require the reduction of noise and emissions of particulate matter resulting from the use of leaf blowers to protect the public health, welfare and environment of the City of Cambridge and its citizens.

Veterans of war often return home with severe but unseen injuries. 8,000 veterans, each year, take their own lives. A garden design to heal the wounds of war for vets and their families is the purpose of this project. Help make it possible.

The Cambridge Public Health Department will be handing out free Narcan, test strips, CPR face shields, and other harm reduction materials at the Central Square Branch of the Cambridge Public Library on Dec. 9 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The City has significantly increased the number of trees it plants annually. The City collects and recycles more than 9,000 tons of materials annually. By stopping food waste from going to a landfill, we prevent greenhouse gas emissions.
