Kids can make a pollinator finger puppet or take home a kit to make one.

If you’d like to learn more about your housing rights and connect with local resources, please join us on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the King Open School in Cambridge for a community event featuring City departments and local organizations offering information on housing, tenant protections, and available services. This event is free and open to all, with food, family-friendly activities, and entertainment provided.

Pathway for Immigrant Workers (PIW) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit serving the Greater Boston area. PIW represents local employers who would not otherwise have the means to sponsor a minimum wage worker for a green card. Darning is a fabric mending technique that involves reinforcing or re-weaving a portion of fabric by hand. In this workshop, we’ll learn how to visibly mend holes and weak areas in sweaters, socks, and other knit fabrics using seed stitch and square darning techniques. You’ll leave with a sampler of both techniques that you can refer back to when tackling your own darning projects at home. Suitable for beginners with little or no darning experience, though it does help if you have some experience with hand sewing.

Let’s talk about your favorite comics! Bring in a graphic novel and share your thoughts on why it’s great – or even why it’s terrible. Each month will feature a different reading challenge – you get to pick any comic that you think matches the theme! Celebrate comics with snacks, books, and maybe even the chance to make one yourself! This month’s theme, bring in your favorite comic and tell us why you love it. Snacks are provided.
