The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) purchased 31-37 Mellen Street, a 26,000 square foot property, from Lesley University in late December 2025. Located in the Baldwin neighborhood between Harvard Square and Porter Square, the site is in close proximity to the area’s many amenities including local retail restaurants, and the MBTA train stations and bus transportation. The CHA is planning to create new affordable housing on the sites under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO).

The Cambridge Police Senior Academy is a unique opportunity for Cambridge seniors (age 60 and older) to engage with law enforcement professionals, learn about policing practices, and gain insights into public safety initiatives.

We will take a leisurely walk as we observe and learn together about the animals and plants at Alewife Reservation. You are welcome to bring binoculars, magnifying glasses or any other observational tool. The paths and boardwalks are well maintained but can be muddy in places. Overall, in FY24, the City is dedicating more than $60 million from a variety of sources to address affordable housing and homelessness. The fiscal year 2023 resulted in a number of key accomplishments.

The program will also share simple tips for preventing common dental problems and explain when to see a dentist. Free toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and local dental care resources will be available for everyone.
